Update: Problem solved - The Batdrama continues: Matt Reeves not directing and Affleck wants to leave?
Update
The Drama seems to be over, the heads have cooled off. Matt Reeves has officially signed on as the director for the Batman movie. The statement says:
A short time later Ben Affleck even put out a tweet greeting him for entering the project
so things seem to get back on track with the Batman movie I hope from now on we will only hear good things on the great progress the movie makes.

After the reports that Ben Affleck will not direct the Batman movie to focus on his acting many people were concerned. Did he really just want to focus on his acting or was there something else wrong with the script. Whatever the reason, there was a chance to turn things around, get people excited again, if they could only enroll another high-class director to take over for Affleck. Soon negotiations started with several directors like Ridley Scott and Fede Alvarez. But it was Matt Reeves who seemed to be the closest to getting the job. People were releaved, Reeves had done a great job taking over the "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" and we are all looking forward to "War for the Planet of the Apes". He seems have a gift for taking over a franchise, making it his own and delivering a great movie.
Now However the Hollywood Reporter exclusively reports that negotiations have broken down.
What alarms me is the phrase " talks could resume when heads cool". Granted it could just be a bad choice of phrasing and only relate to Matt Reeves being super busy with the post-production of Apes 3, but it sure sounds like like some sort of fight had happened, or at least things got really heated.
All this news dropped right when the story made the rounds that apparently Ben Affleck wants to exit the Batman movie for good. The news started with John Campea, of the Youtube Channel Collider Videos.
On Mondays Movie Talk episode he stated that he had heard from 3 non-confirmed sources that Affleck no longer wants to be part of the Batman movie.
This story comes with a long disclaimer, telling us to not run with this story, since he can't confirm it and nothing is official or valid enough to count. Watch the video to make up your own mind. The reason i still bring it up is, because John himself believes the story and I trust him. So if he believes it, there might be something to it.
So the Drama continuous, Warner will probably want to keep things under wrap until Wonder Woman and Justice League is out, so it doesn't torpedo the marketing for those movies.
So what we learn here is, watch Collider Video, its really great...all of it.
